Relations between Mercenary Units and Employers
Federated Suns
House Davion has earned a reputation for fair treatment of mercenaries. Davion has several prominent mercs under employment at this time. Also beware of Hanse Davion because he is know to trick mercenaries and placing them in discomforting spots. Sow when you hire on with Davion make sure you look over your contract well so you are not tricked.
Lyran Commonwealth
House Steiner has something that not many of the other House can offer, one of the richest economies and as a result can offer large contract sums to Mercenary units. But the bad thing in all of it is that the Lyran Commonwealth is home to weak and often incompetent military officers and political infighting. Often mercs get stranded on worlds that Steiner troops withdraw from or get can be commanded by LC officers through clauses.
Capellan Confederation
House Liao like steiner offers contracts with a large sums of money attached to them. But be ware the Maximilian Liao is a sneaky and a scheming ruler. who can not be trusted, so watch yourself.
Draconis Combine
Mercenary units like to call House Kurita "the snakes" because of the Dragons head crest. The Draconis combine are very good at the Company Store approach to mercenary units in their employment. The kurita troops have little respect for mercenary units, so just keep a look out for rouge Kurita units.
Free Worlds League
Mercenary units under Marik find their duty unsettling but profitable. There are various factions that fight each other in coups or rebellions. Their are plenty of Riot duty contracts available in the Free Worlds League. Also if you get caught on the wrong side of a rebellion the unit could be destroyed
Rebels and Secessionists
These contracts are often called "dead-end" contracts because they deal with secessionist governments in the Inner Sphere. These governments lack funds but offer land in return. The bad side is that if a house decides to put down the rebellion on the world the merc unit will die with the rebels.
Periphery Nations
Tuarian Concordat: Untrustworthy
Magistracy of Canopus: treats mercenary units good but there involvement in the Succession Wars is potentially dangerous.
Outworlds Alliance: Fairly decent but unambitious and poor power
